SEARCH AND RESCUE
Due to the diversity of the topography of Cheboygan County which includes vast state forests and lands within 740 square miles, the Cheboygan County Sheriff Office has a search and rescue team comprised of 50 members with law enforcement and fire command that utilizes an Incident Command structure following the National Incident Management System.
At any given time, during any type of weather the CCSR Team can set up employing a command vehicle consisting of the latest in computer technology, GIS mapping, GPS, communications, emergency aid and search and rescue vehicles.
DIVE TEAM
Cheboygan County is bordered by Lake Huron and includes three of the largest lakes in Michigan plus several river systems. The Cheboygan County Dive Team is utilized in the recovery efforts of persons and property/evidence.
K-9 DIVISION
The Cheboygan County Sheriff Office has two K-9’s to provide daily assistance with enforcement efforts on drugs and drug related crimes, fleeing criminals and search and rescue of missing persons.
